DANIEL SIMONE

IT/THEY/HE/SHE

DANIEL SIMONE is a papermaker, printmaker, and painter working with cyclically recycled material. It believes that as an artist, it is their responsibility to the Earth and those that come after me to utilize as few primary, manufactured sources as possible. He has established a cyclical papermaking practice, utilizing refuse as physical, psychological, and structural substrate. Every piece of well-worn, discarded clothing of hers or her partner's is cut and beaten into pulp. Many utility bills, junk mail, letters, and journal pages are thrown into the mixture as well. Any tests, misprints, or failures it creates go back into the sludge to be pulled and printed or painted upon once again.
